Summer in Tokyo...

Hi all, just got back from Tokyo and Kyoto a few days ago and still trying to recover from the holiday. It was really hot and humid in Japan especially Kyoto. As usual the trip was too short and not enough time to cover all the places we wish to see, do the things we wish to do and eat the food we wish to eat. :)
Already planning my next trip back...
We managed to catch Nara Yoshitomo's latest exhibition at the Yokohoma Musuem and found our way to D+Department which was a nice way to end our trip.

Bali high...

Went and back... too fast, too short... that's how i would describe our Bali trip.
Last went to Bali about 6 years ago, so much has changed. Very commercialise now. Especially Ubud and Seminyak area. Prefer the old Bali. Traffic is pretty ridiculous too. Kinda like a mini Jakarta now.
Best thing we did was to hire a driver to drive us around. (pleasant guy name Putu). With JW in tow it was not easy but we survived, even managed to squeeze in a few art galleries and hotel hopping.
Went to see UMA in Ubud and UMA Sapna in Seminyak. Visited Kendra Gallery Gaya Gallery and BIASA artspace. We even managed to see a Chagall and Gauguin
Wished we covered more. But hey it was supposed to be a relaxing holiday. And relaxed we did.
Stayed at Alila Villas Uluwatu. Beautiful Site, well designed hotel but unfortunately service was not as we expected from an Alila hotel...
All in all, a good break and a well deserved holiday. I think JW enjoyed it the most.

Filled Weekend

Hi all! Happy Monday.

Was a really packed and fruitful weekend. Started with me cooking for hubby last Friday night after a really long while. Made a simple salad and squid ink pasta with tomato sauce, basil and cheese. Result?
Got the thumbs up!

On Saturday, with hubby and JW in tow, we headed for brunch in Bangsar at this newly opened Australian bistro, Antipodean. Recommended by sis-in-law as the coffee came highly rated by her.
They have their own roasting machine and they use Merdaka coffee beans from Indonesia.
This is their first shop in Kuala Lumpur after a successful run in Indonesia.

I had their Ploughman's open sandwich while hubby opted for the big breakfast.

They even do a little art work for you on your coffee...
my lovely latte

They have a wide selection of sweets and dessert as well... will definitely be heading back for a taste.
You can read more about them at antipodeancoffee.com

Sunday morning, hubby packed us all up early and we headed to Port Dickson for some Raptor watching. Every year the raptors fly by Tanjung Tuan Resort as it is the first land the birds see on their path of migration back to the Northern Hemisphere, back to countries such as Japan and Russia. Pretty amazing huh?
As usual JW was all decked up for the event.

hey JW you are suppose to be looking up!

On our stopover back to KL along the highway, ate this beautifully banana leaf wrapped rice cooked with coconut milk, served with hard boiled eggs, roasted peanuts and "sambal".
A local cuisine better known as "nasi lemak". Simple and delicious.

Love the way they wrap the rice...

Hope u had a filling weekend like me?

It's Friday...

It's Friday, the skies are grey, it's been raining the whole morning, weather is chilly and breezy, just done with gym after a simple breaky with hubby round the corner.
To sum it up...it's a lazy Friday. ; ). I'm not complaining though.

The weather just makes me wanna snuggle up in bed with a nice cuppa and a good read. These 2 bedrooms seems like just the place to do that...

Hoping little JW would do loads of this on the weekend...

But hubby is planning to gown down south to do some "Raptor Watch" by the beach.
(more of that next week)

Being in something like this for the weekend would be so nice...

It's been such a long time since i had a chance to dress up. With little JW around, my dress motto these days is "anything thats easy to move around in".... sigh...

Shall leave you with this for the weekend.

And make sure you get loads of this...

Happy weekend everyone!
See you next week.

Monday mischief

The weekend came and gone too fast!!!! I want my weekend back... :(
jw up to his mischiefs...
Today is just flying by with having to take care of my little one.
He's quite a handful and getting into his separation anxiety stage, hence having to carry him all the time.

Just realise that we have to start looking into design ideas for our home. Been putting it off for too long.
Still awaiting approval from the authority. Hope to start work on it soon. In the mean time, will have to start putting together some inspirations for our home.

For starters...Dining chic...
Liking the colour scheme, simplicity and the black and white framed poster filled feature wall
