It's that time of the year again for Milan 2011... Thousands of designers gather at
Salone Internazionale del Mobile from 12-17 April to exhibit, see the latest in design and to gather what's hot for the coming year.
Here are a few picks.
Nendo has design a sleek and sexy steel chair for YII using a traditional bamboo method. Very smart!
Would love to have a this story to add to my small collection of vases.
These beautifully beaded vases are by Swedish designer,
Front. It tells the stories of five women living in remote KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Called Story Vases, the objects record the testimonies of the women in glass beads threaded onto wire – a traditional Zulu craft technique that provides work for many women in South Africa.
Can't miss out this amazingly and painstakingly put together (3000 hours to be precise) metal rug by
Philippe Malouin too.
Called The Yachiyo metal rug, the piece is handmade from galvanised steel wire rings in a Japanese chain mail design with twelve loops attached to every two central rings.
Will be posting more furnitures soon...
